Key FeaturesDolphin is an integrated NDT system, combining cutting-edge hardware and software technologies that revolutionize the way the world inspects and monitors its heat exchanger tubes. The following key features enable maintenance technicians to streamline the inspection process:

This fully integrated product comprises a compact, handheld hardware probe that is used to inspect internal diameters of any tube up to 2". A wide probe is available for internal diameters between 2"-4". The probe injects an acoustic pulse down the tube and collects the reflected signals that return.  The probe is connected to a sophisticated software system that automatically processes and interprets the signals using AcousticEye's breakthrough signal processing algorithms. The system generates easy-to-read reports that pinpoint the location and determine the severity of every problem.

  • Compact, handheld probe – Comprising the entire assembly of transducer, microphone and source tubes, the compact handheld probe is used to inject an acoustic pulse down the tube and collect the reflected signals that return. The probe is supplied with a set of adaptors that enables it to fit tubes of any internal diameter.
  • Workflow management: Tabular organization of the user interface guides the technician through all the steps necessary to carry out a job - from mapping, through parameter input, measurements, report generation and verification, to generating the final report.
  • Intuitive GUI: Easy scrolling, zooming, navigation and helpful right-click functions streamline the operation of the software.
  • MappingMapping: The system creates a computerized 3-D model of the heat exchanger tube sheet based on a photo (which can be taken on the spot), or by uploading a CAD file or a scanned schematic diagram. Tube openings can then be marked to synchronize the measurement number with the location on the actual heat exchanger. The mapping feature shows which tubes have been measured, ensuring that the technician does not miss a tube and does not measure a tube more than once.
  • Logging: All measurements are logged in their raw form. Different thresholds and algorithms can be applied to regenerate reports with different levels of sensitivity. Measurements of the same heat exchanger at different turnarounds can be compared.
  • One-click calibration: After performing the desired number of measurements, the system automatically calculates a reference measurement through intelligent averaging of the selected measurements, taking into account a "noise sleeve" which represents the normal variability between measurements. The reference measurement is the baseline against which the tubes are analyzed for flaws.
  • Visual aids for  defect detectionVisual aids for defect detection: Programmable thresholds for different flaw types and sizes can be overlaid on the measured signals, to assist in visual evaluation of defects. Leakage signal templates can be displayed with a right click of the mouse.
    Report generation
  • Report generation: With a single click, the software interprets the signal measurements of all tubes and indicates possible defects. The results are summarized in several tables for the different types of flaws. Each table can be scanned rapidly for verification, with a click of the mouse bringing up the appropriate signal at the appropriate location. After the findings are approved by the user,Report generation a further click creates a complete report in PDF format, including tabular reporting and screenshots of the detected flaws.
